Mr. Bernice Bowlin age 87 of Burkesville, KY passed away Saturday, May 31, 2014 at the Medical Center at Bowling Green.
Bernice was born on October 22, 1926 in Cumberland County, KY to the late John Riley Bowlin and Julie Ann Ooten Bowlin. Bernice was united in marriage to Maxie Spears on January 28, 1954 in Cumberland County, KY. He was a member of Parrish Chapel United Methodist Church, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II,  and a former employee of the Cumberland County Board of Education retiring in 1995 after 28 years as a custodian and bus driver. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Leona Cary, and one great grandson, John Russell Bowlin, four brothers, Willie Bowlin, Paul Bowlin, Homer Bowlin, Verner Bowlin, and one sister, Dorothy Gilbert.

Survivors Include:
His wife of 60 years- Maxie Spears Bowlin of Burkesville, KY
One Son- David Bowlin and his wife Christie of Mayfield, KY
One Daughter- Cathy Johnson and her companion Bobby Redmon of Columbia, KY
Two Grandchildren- Tiffany Sue Bean, and Chris (Brenda) Bowlin
Six Great Grandchildren- Blake Bowlin, Landon Bowlin, Alex Cary, Stacy Cary, Phillip Cornelison, Rylie Smith
and a host of other relatives and friends survive

Funeral Service:
Tuesday, June 03, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home, 304 North Main Street, Burkesville, KY with Bro. Neil Janes officiating. Burial in Burkesville Cemetery.
Family requests visitation on Monday, June 02, 2014 from 4:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home in Burkesville.

Kathy im so sorry about your Dad...we are really going to miss him when we are down there...my brother always went across and talk to him...and he kept a watch on our house...he was one great man ...so sorry again his neighbor on Johnson St, Golda Staley
