|On behalf of the entire Chowning family, I would like to extend our sympathy to the family of Mr. Capps. My late father, Chattin Chowning, spoke highly of Mr. Capps as they worked together, several years ago, and with others,to make improvements and upgrade the Burkesville Cemetery. On the day of my father's burial (May 3, 2003), Mr. Capps attended the burial service, and following the service, he asked me if it would be okay for him to stay and oversee the actual burial of my father. I was very appreciative of Mr. Capps' concern that the burial be done in keeping with my father's requests. As we were getting into our cars to depart, I noticed that Mr. Capps was using his own handkerchief to wipe off the top of my father's casket. All of us were deeply touched by his kindness and concern for us on that day. We will always be grateful for that act of compassion and the good work that he and others did through the years.|
We certainly extend our heartfelt sympathy to Mrs. Capps and all of the family in this time. May God bless you and sustain you in the days ahead.
