Frank Allen, Jr. age 90 of Burkesville, KY passed away on Monday, March 09, 2015 at Cumberland County Hospital. Frank was born on November 30, 1924 in Nashville, Tennessee to the late Frank Allen, Sr. and Mary Will Connor Allen.  He was a longtime businessman in Burkesville, working many jobs in his lifetime.  He became the owner and sole proprietor of two businesses, Cumberland Portrait Studio, and Corner Pool Room. He was a devoted  member of Burkesville Community Church, a former city councilman, a member of the  Burkesville Chapter 136 F & ACM, and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Frank was a former regional officer for the V.F.W., and a scout master for the Boy Scouts of America.  His skills and talents were many, from showing movies at the local theater, to certification as a professional scuba diver, and his interest in piloting both real and model airplanes.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, William Douglas Allen, one sister, Sara Branch, and one grandson, Ryan William Allen. Funeral Service: Saturday, March 14, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home, 304 N. Main Street, Burkesville, KY with burial in Grundy Chapel Cemetery with military honors by the U.S. Navy.  Family requests visitation on Friday, March 13, 2015 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home.
