Geneva Imogene Thomas York age 85 of Burkesville, Kentucky passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at Cumberland County Hospital.  Geneva was born at the family home on Garrett Creek Road in Cumberland County, KY on October 08, 1929 to the late Duke Cordell Thomas and Edna Jewell Traylor Thomas.  She was of the Methodist faith, and was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville, KY.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Fred Jackson York one son, Charles Fred York,one grandson, Daniel Jackson York, three brothers, James Thomas, Bill Thomas, and Malcolm Kyle Thomas, and one sister, Nelda Thomas Scull.

Survivors Include: Two Daughters- Barbara Anderson of Spartanburg, SC, and Debera Long of Campbellsville, KY Two Sons- Marty York of Marrowbone, KY, and Larry Sid York of Burkesville, KY 7 Grandchildren, 16 Great Grandchildren, and 2 Great Great Grandchildren, 8 nieces and nephews, and several great and great great nieces and nephews.

A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2015 from 11:00 A.M. until 12:30 P.M. at Living Word Assembly of God, 173 Living Word Drive, Burkesville, Kentucky. In accordance with Geneva's request cremation has been chosen.  Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
