James Edward "Ed" Bowling, age 79 of Louisville, passed away Friday, January 1, 2016. Ed was a retired truck driver and a US Navy Veteran, with a love of God, country and family. He was preceded in death by his wife Roberta; his parents, Matthew and Virtle Bowling; siblings, Margie, Kenneth and Lois. Ed is survived by his step-sons, Tim Tallent (Laura) and Martin Tallent (Lisa); granddaughter, Kayla; siblings, Ellis (Ann), Paul (Lois), Edna Downs and Hank (Marilyn); and a host of relatives and friends. Visitation will be 1-4pm Eastern Time Sunday, January 3, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Drive in Middletown, KY with service to follow at 4pm. Burial will be Monday, January 4th 1pm Eastern Time/12pm Central Time at the French-Logan Family Cemetery in Burkesville. Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home in charge of local arrangements.
