John "Jack" Gilbert, age 83 of Burkesville, Kentucky passed away on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at his home. Jack was born on January 02, 1940 in Baltimore, Maryland. He was a policeman for twenty-three years, was in the Army Reserve for many years and also did carpentry work and photography. Jack was preceded in death by his parents Harold Gilbert and Evelyn Shaller Gilbert and his first wife Becky Gilbert.

Gilbert (Wanda) of Burkesville, KY One daughter- Cynthia Gilbert of Burkesville, KY Two Stepsons- Terry Boggs of Burkesville, KY and Roger Daley of Orlando, FL One Stepdaughter- Jamaica Darlymple (Scottie) of Livingston, TN Nine Grandchildren- Ricky Gilbert (Jennifer) of Casper, WY, Dylan Gilbert (Karrie Struthers) and Draigen Thompson all of Burkesville, KY, Bella Glidewell of Albany, KY and Julie Smith, Jemma Smith, Jayli Smith, and Jordyn Darlymple all of Livingston, TN Two Great Grandchildren- Josh Gilbert and Paige Gilbert both of Casper, WY

Funeral Service: Sunday, November 12, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home, 304 N. Main Street, Burkesville, KY with burial in Gilbert Family Cemetery.  Family requests visitation on Saturday, Nov. 11th after 5 P.M. at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home
