John Gentry Rush age 69 of Burkesville, Kentucky passed away on Friday, April 25, 2014 at his home after an illness.  John was born on August 07, 1944 in Cumberland County, KY to the late James "Jim" Rush and Cassie Riddle Rush.  He was an avid fisherman and hunter, and was a fishing guide, having owned Rainbow Guide Service for over 20 years.  He was a follower of Shepherds Chapel, and a member of Cumberland Masonic Lodge #413.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Judy Rush and Alice King, and two brothers, Willie Rush and Erby Rush. Survivors Include: His Wife- Marie Savage Rush of Burkesville, KY One Son- Johnny Earl Rush and his wife Angie of Burkesville, KY One Daughter- Angela Akin and her husband George of Bowling Green, KY One Brother- Jamie Rush of Louisville, KY Four Sisters- Joyce Wilson of Jamestown, KY, Sally Ballman of Nicholasville, KY, Georgie Kailan of Louisville, KY and Jewell Dicken of Burkesville, KY Three Grandchildren- Elizabeth Rush, Erin Rush, and John Curtis Rush all of Burkesville, KY One Great Grandchild- John Tyler Watts of Burkesville, KY and a host of other relatives and friends survive. Funeral Service: Sunday, April 27, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home, 304 North Main St. Burkesville, KY with Willie Capshaw officiating.  Family requests visitation after 4:00 P.M. Saturday, April 26, 2014 at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home. Cremation will follow the service with inurnment in the Rush Family Cemetery on Otter Creek Road in Burkesville, KY.
