Maxie Howard Smith age 86 of Burkesville, KY passed away on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at Cumberland County Hospital. Maxie was born on April 21, 1930 in Metcalfe County, KY to the late Porter and Elvira England Smith.  He was a former employee of Ralph Packing Co. in Indianapolis, IN and had worked for the Cumberland County Fiscal Court. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sons, Ricky Dean Smith and Jimmy Howard Smith, two sisters, Nell Rittenberry and Louvina Garrett, and three brothers, James Smith, Paul Smith, and Walter Smith. Survivors Include: His Wife- Carolyn Smith of Burkesville, KY Three Sons- Jason Lee Smith of Burkesville, KY, and Larry Dale Smith and Gary Brown both of Indiana. One Daughter- Linda Hopkins of Indiana Three Sisters- Irene Allen of Jackson, KY, and Aline Mitchell, and Sue Vibbert both of Indiana One Brother- George Smith of Indiana several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends also survive. Funeral Service: Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home, 304 N. Main Street, Burkesville, KY with burial in Bow Schoolhouse Cemetery.  Family requests visitation on Monday, August 15, 2016 from 12:00 Noon until 9:00 P.M. at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home
