Mayford Spear age 89 of Elizabethtown, KY formerly of Burkesville, KY passed away on Thursday, May 05, 2016 at Helmwood Healthcare Center in Elizabethtown. Mayford was born on February 02, 1927 in Cumberland County, KY to the late Hugh and Della Key Spear.  He was a member of Elizabethtown Church of Christ and was retired from the Kentucky Department of Transportation after 40 years of service, serving the last twenty years in Elizabethtown.  He was a veteran of the United States Army having served during World War II.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Ann Neeley Spear, one brother, Alton Spear, and one sister, Juanita Cook. Survivors Include: Two Daughters- Gale Radford and her husband Mike of Monticello, KY and Carol Weaver and her husband John, Jr. of Glasgow, KY One Son- Dr. Steven Spear of Lexington, KY Two Sisters- Mildred Brammer of South Carolina, and Sylvia Traylor of Hanover, Indiana Four Grandchildren- Kevin Weaver, Kyle Weaver, Dan Radford, and Emily Upchurch Four Great Grandchildren- Brenna Radford, Cory Upchurch, Kendyl Radford, and Cole Upchurch and a host of other relatives and friends also survive. Funeral Service: Saturday, May 07, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home, 304 N. Main Street, Burkesville, KY with burial in Burkesville Cemetery.  Family requests visitation on Friday, May 06, 2016 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home.
