Ruby Hood, age 97 of Burkesville, KY(a resident of Cumberland Valley Manor) passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at the nursing home. Ruby was born on March 10, 1916 in Cumberland County, KY to the late Uriah Wheeler Thrasher and Ephrasia Arminta Anderson Thrasher.  She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. She worked during World War II at the Indiana Army Ammunition Plant, and later at the Colgate Plant in Clarksville, IN.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Dicken Hood, and her brothers and sisters, William Lois Thrasher, Edward Seymore Thrasher, Isaac Barton Thrasher, Billie Brown Thrasher, Paul Allen Thrasher, Thomas Earl Thrasher, Benton Franklin Thrasher, James Oscar Thrasher, Robert Wheeler Thrasher, Mary Rhea Siebert, Eunice Jewell Rowe, Pearl Ruffin.
