Steve Cooksey, age 67 of  Burkesville, KY passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at his home. Steve was born on January 18, 1956 in Burkesville, KY to James Chester Cooksey and Joyce Inell Watson Cooksey. Steve was a Financial Advisor at Cooksey Financial Services and Edwards Jones in Georgetown, KY, a member of Kiwanis in Georgetown, KY and a member of Burkesville Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Cooksey and father-in-law, Tip Baker.

Steve was surrounded and cared for by the love of his life, Janie Baker Cooksey. His love for the Lord, his family, friends, clients, his Kentucky home and country were unwavering. He had an uncanny ability of relating to anyone he met through his innate humility. He was always willing to provide encouragement, wisdom, and kindness to all those around him, and his keen sense of humor would brighten any room. He will be missed by all who knew him.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. at Burkesville Baptist Church, 372 N. Main St, Burkesville, KY. Family requests visitation on Saturday, October 21, 2023 from 1:00 P. M. until time for the service at Burkesville Baptist Church. Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
