Brian O'Connor Obituary

Donald “Brian” O’Connor, age 62, of Burkesville, passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2026, at Shanti Niketan Hospice Home in Glasgow, Kentucky.

Brian was born on November 11, 1963, in Sparta, Tennessee, to the late Donald O’Connor and Eileen “Jessie” O’Connor. When he was a small child, his family moved to Nashville, where he later attended Glencliff High School. He was a Christian of the Baptist faith.

Brian was a multitalented musician who could play almost any instrument. He began playing in bands around the Nashville music scene as a teenager and performed with numerous well-known local Nashville bands for more than 30 years before later moving to Kentucky. Music was a lifelong passion that brought him joy and connected him with countless friends throughout the years.

In addition to his musical talent, Brian was also an accomplished photographer who owned and operated a successful independent photography business for several years. His creativity and artistic eye were evident in everything he pursued.

Before moving to Kentucky, Brian was employed by Accelerated Christian Education in their IT department in Nashville, Tennessee. A self-taught computer expert, he was known by family and friends as a true “computer whiz” who could solve almost any technical problem put in front of him.

At the time of his passing, Brian was employed by the Cumberland County Fiscal Court at the Tri-County Animal Shelter as an IT technician. He truly enjoyed his work there and especially loved spending time playing with the cats at the shelter. His kindness, intelligence, creativity, and sense of humor left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

Brian will be remembered for his many talents, his generous spirit, his friendship, and the memories he leaves behind with family and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife, Vickie Branham O’Connor; his father- and mother-in-law, Earl and Peggy Branham of Burkesville, Kentucky; his stepson, Zack Temple of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; step-granddaughter Alexis Temple of Sulphur, Louisiana; step-grandson Ryder Temple of Sulphur, Louisiana; and a host of friends who will miss him dearly.

In honoring Brian’s wishes, cremation has been chosen and no public services will be held.

May his memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved him.
