Dennis "Denny" Fletcher Obituary

Dennis "Denny" Ray Fletcher, a devoted father, doting grandfather, and master craftsman, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2026, at the age of 79.
He was born on April 21, 1947, in Louisville, Ky and raised in the heart of Cumberland County by his loving parents, the late Ray Fletcher and Delphia Wilson Fletcher.  Denny later moved to Oldham County, where he built a beautiful life and raised his family with Peggy Radford Fletcher and two daughters. He spent his career working hard in concrete and utility construction, a testament to his strong work ethic and grit. But Denny’s true artistry shone through his passion for woodworking. He poured his heart into creating beautiful, custom pieces—whether it was a carefully turned lazy susan, a clever wine holder, or a sturdy table. He found immense joy in gifting these creations, leaving behind a tangible piece of his soul in the homes of those he loved.

When he wasn't in his workshop, Denny was happiest on the water. His love of fishing and being on the Cumberland River was where his spirit truly found peace and joy. Known for his trademark dry wit, Denny had a rare gift for making light of any situation with a perfectly timed joke. Above all else, Denny prioritized his family and friends. He was a man who showed up for the people he cared about, and his happiest moments were spent surrounded by laughter in the company of those he loved.

The family is profoundly grateful to the many loved ones and friends who have offered comfort to Denny. A special thank you is extended to Kathy and Phillip Fletcher, David Garmon, Slick Thurman, and Lancaster Gordon for the gift of their unwavering, true friendship.

His legacy of warmth, humor, and craftsmanship will live on through his family. He is deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his daughters, Wendy Saladino (Chip) and Heather Dumstorf (Jamie); his two adored granddaughters, Gigi and Ellie, who brought an extra sparkle to his eye, and brothers, Terry Fletcher (Carrie), and Larry Fletcher.
