Ellis Bishop, age 91 of Burkesville, Kentucky passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Cumberland Valley Manor. Ellis was born on March 10, 1926 in the Scoville community of Owsley County, KY to the late Scott W. and Bertha Combs Bishop. Ellis was an Alumni of the University of Kentucky. He began working for the University in 1952. In 1958 he was appointed as the Cumberland County Extension Agent and served the county until his retirement in 1990. Ellis was a member and former deacon of Burkesville Baptist Church, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and was a longtime member of V.F.W. Post 5419. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers, McHenry Bishop, Matthew Bishop, Langley Bishop, and Jesse Paul Bishop, and one sister, Jeanette Rose.

Two Brothers- Scott Bishop of California, and Bill Bishop of Booneville, KY
One Sister- Betty J. Bowling of Booneville, KY

Tuesday, January 02, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home, 304 N. Main Street, Burkesville, KY with Dr. Mark Shelton officiating. Burial in Burkesville Cemetery with military honors.
