Hildegard Knezevic, age 99 of Burkesville, Kentucky passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2024 at her home. Hildegard was born on November 23, 1924 in Hamburg, Germany to the late Max Eduard Hering and Anna Hering. Hildegard worked for Red Cross during World War II and came to the US in 1951. She was a retired maintenance worker for Clinic of Family Medicine. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two children, Milica Whited and Donna Tomlin, two grandchildren, Anna Knezevic and Lisa Whited, one great-grandchild, Darius Whited, five siblings, Lore Jansen, Greta Clausnitzer, Henrik Hering, Sigrid Klausegger and Elizabeth Hering, adopted family members, Carmela Whited (Earl Jr) , Theodore Whited (Verna), Michael Whited and Melanie Sue Whited-Conley.
Survivors Include:
Three children - Ann Jackson (Lawrence) of Burkesville, Milan Knezevic of Florida and Rhonda Murphy (Chris) of Rensselaer, IN
Thirteen grandchildren
Nineteen great-grandchildren
One great-great-grandchild with another on the way
Adopted family members - Russell Conley, Richard Whited and Laura-Ann Whited
Cremation has been chosen and a memorial service will be held at a later time. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of an act of kindness in her memory.
