Jimmie "J.D." Spears

Jimmie Darrell "J. D." Spears 72 of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away unexpectedly February 20,2026 at his home. He was born May 7,1953 in in Cumberland County, Kentucky to the late Roy and Opal {Edens} Spears. J.D. graduated from Cumberland High School where he was on the football team. He loved sports. Following graduation he married his high school sweetheart Marian {Rush} Spears. Around 1976 they relocated to Indianapolis, Indiana. There they raised 4 children. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son Carl Spears, his son-in-law Michael Hatley, three brothers  Willie Junior Spears , Glenn Spears, and  Leonard Howard Spears,  five sisters Carrie Nell Hart, Thelma Sue Burnley, Hilda Jones, Grace Blair, Alma Bow, and Betty Watkins.

Survivors Include:
His wife-  Marian Spears of Indianapolis, IN
Two Daughters Susan Hatley of Indianapolis, IN, Jennifer Coffey(Edward) of Lebanon, TN
One Son- David Lamb (Amanda) of Bon Aqua, TN
14 Grandchildren- Ashley, Tracey, Alesha, Chelsea, Carley, Cody, Jacob and Jessica, Aaron, Avery, Anslee, Ashlyn, Anthony and Austin
15 Great Grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends

Funeral Service:
Saturday, February 28, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home, 304 N. Main Street, Burkesville, KY with burial in Perkins Cemetery.  Family requests visitation on Saturday, Feb. 28th from 10 A.M. until time for the service at 2 P.M.
