Nicholas George Jones

Nicholas George Jones, age 83 of Burkesville, Kentucky passed away on Monday, May 10, 2021 in Burkesville. Nicholas George was born on September 24, 1937 in Knott County, KY, one of nine children of the late Colonel and Delilah Everage Jones. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruby Amburgey and Sylvia Ann Osborne. He worked one day in the coal mines, then worked on Jukeboxes  at Vicco, KY. He later served two years in the U.S. Army. After serving his country, he then went to Anderson, Indiana and worked for Pay Less Super Market as an assistant manager before going to work for General Motors in Anderson where he retired after thirty-two years of service. 

Survivors Include:
His Wife- Betty Lou Smith Jones of Burkesville, KY
One Son- Russell Jones of Burkesville, KY
Three Brothers- Luther Jones and wife Mary of Tennessee, Floyd Jones and wife Jodie and Arley Jones and wife Jenny all of Indiana
Three Sisters- Matilda Almond, Sarah Frances Smith and husband Dave, and Matreva Baker all of Indiana
Two Grandchildren- Tim Jones and Dakota Jones both of Indiana
Two Great Granddaughters along with a special cousin, Matilda Lucas of Knott County, KY

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 13, 2021 from 3 P.M. until 7 P.M. at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home, 304 N. Main Street, Burkesville, KY with cremation to follow.
