Richard Lafayette Keen, age 95 of Burkesville, Kentucky passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at the Medical Center at Albany. Richard was born on May 07, 1929 in a log house which sat on his present home site in Cumberland County, KY to the late James Em Keen and Regina Simpson Keen. After graduation from Burkesville High School he joined the Air Force in1950 and was a Korean War Veteran. He attended one year at University of Kentucky in Lexington. He was a heavy equipment operator, pilot, quarry manager, entrepreneur, owner of Refrigeration Supply in Bowling Green, and was a New York Life agent and realtor. Richard was a member of Burkesville First Methodist Church and assisted the bricklayers to build the existing building. He was a member of Cumberland Lodge #413 for over 60 years. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son Kerry Richard Keen, his first wife Geneva Keen, and one sister Mary James Koenig

Two Sons- Steven Lafayette Keen and his wife Lisa of Gherkin, KY and Brian Howard Keen and his wife Iveth of Bowling Green, KY
One Sister- Rachel Keen of Charlottesville, VA
Five Grandchildren- Justin Keen, Addie Brown and her husband Robert, Lillie Holland and her fiance' Wilson Beasley, Ariveth Keen, and Emily Stone and husband Jared
Six Great Grandchildren- Karli Keen, Norah Wilson, Evelyn Brown, Henry Brown, Beckette Brown, Eleanor Stone
and a host of other relatives and friends
In accordance with Richard's wishes cremation has been chosen. His ashes will be interred at the Walker Cemetery on his homeplace after a memorial service that will be held on Saturday, February 08, 2025 at 1 P.M. at his home.
