Thomas Cobb

Thomas H. Cobb, 89, of Longboat Key, FL, went home to the Lord on Tuesday, June 18, 2024. He was born on September 14, 1934, in Grayson County, Texas the son of Hugh and Faye Cobb. 

After growing up in Whitewright , TX, he served honorably in the U.S. Army until 1963. Tom was a Production Supervisor, Western USA Hazmat manager, Hazardous Material Response Instructor & Rail fleet manager, with Dupont in Louisville, KY & Wilmington, DE. His job took him to most States as well as Russia, Armenia, Finland, Denmark, Germany, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Mexico, Canada & others. After 32 years he retired to become a Hazmat Materials Response Instructor for the state of Kentucky for eight years. He later retired to Longboat Key, FL.

Tom is predeceased by his loving wife of 54 years, Mildred Keeton Cobb, his parents Hugh & Faye Cobb of Whitewright, TX and sister, Mary Jo Novey of Oklahoma City, OK 

He is survived by his son Greg Cobb (Maryanne), granddaughters Stephanie Farnsworth (Andrew), Kellie Humphrey (Sean), and Brooke Cobb. Two Great Granddaughters and Three Great Grandsons. 

Tom was a member of Cortez Road Baptist Church. He enjoyed his membership in the VFW Post 1181, Louisville, KY, American Legion Post 24, Bradenton, FL & Moose Lodge 2188 on Anna Maria Island FL, he enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, and most water sports.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, June 23, 2024 at 2.00 P.M. at Ballou Stotts Funeral Home, 304 N Main St., Burkesville, Ky. Family requests visitation Sunday from 11:00 A.M. until time for the service at 2:00 P.M. at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home. 

Tom will be laid to rest beside his loving wife in the Burkesville Cemetery, Burkesville, KY.
