William “Willie” “Bill” Albert Murley, age 86 of Louisville, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2018 surrounded by family.
William was born September 15, 1931 to Rube and Magdalene Murley in Cumberland County, Kentucky. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was also an employee of Philip Morris Intl., where he worked as a machinist and retired after 32 years.
William was a great family man and a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend to many. Throughout his life William positively impacted countless lives and inspired many with his determination and optimistic spirit. He was proud Christian and servant of the Lord. He never met a stranger and was a dedicated Kentucky Basketball and Nascar fan.
Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, Leon Murley; and twin granddaughters, Jessica and Lauren Cary.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Joyce Murley (Anderson) and three daughters; Sheila Cary (Mike), Betty Boone (Bill), and Susan Washburn (Darren); five grandchildren, Chad(Candice), Justin, Brandon, Kaitlin and Haley; great-granddaughters Natalie and Juliette.
The family would like to thank Dr. John L. Huber, Jr and other medical staff that helped him through his journey.
Willie’s funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, June 28, 2018 at Bosse Funeral Home, 1355 Ellison at Barret Avenues in Louisville with burial to follow at Marrowbone Cemetery in Burkesville, Kentucky at 2:00 P.M.. Visitation will be from 2-8 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home
