William Mitchell Harris

William Mitchell Harris, age 58, went to be with the Lord on May 31,2026 in Cookeville, Tennessee. Born on September 13. 1967, Mitchell entered this world alongside his identical twin brother, Reggie Michael Harris. The twins were named by their father, William Reggie Harris, whom Mitchell loved and admired dearly. From his father, he learned the value of hard work, mechanical skills, and the importance of helping others. Mitchell proudly served the United States Navy and was stationed in Alabama. Throughout his life, he worked as a mechanic and in the logging industry, operating a skidder and earning a reputation as someone who could fix just about anything. He was always soft spoken, humble and kind. He took pride in working with his hands and was willing to lend his knowledge and skills to anyone who needed his help. Mitchell would've given the shirt off his back and the hook out of his tackle box. Above all else, Mitchell loved his children, step-children and his grandbabies.

He is survived by his Daughter Brittany Michelle Browning-Harris his son Gabriel Logan Harris, his stepdaughter Amanda Wallen, his stepson Justin (Jessica) Crump, His grandchildren Felix Grimes, Karson Smith, Kamden Gray, Ray-lynn Browning, Gracelynn Browning, Elise Wallen, Jaxon Crump, Jace Crump, his mother Nancy Malacaro and stepfather Nick Malacaro, his twin brother Reggie Harris, one niece Tricia Williamson, two nephews Reggie Michael Harris, Jr. and Nicholas Harris along with a host of other family members and friends. Mitchell will be remembered for the love he showed everyone who had ever met the man and the  His children and grandchildren were the center of his world and he treasured every moment he spent with them. One of Mitchell's greatest passions was fishing on the Cumberland River and Barren River. Some of his happiest moments were spent on the water, rod in hand, sharing his love of fishing with his children and brother hoping they would enjoy it as much as he did. The memories made during those fishing trips remained close to his heart throughout his life. He was preceded in death by his father William Reggie Harris and younger brother Manuel Harris. Mitchell will be remembered for the love he showed everyone who had ever met the man and the devotion he had for his children, his service to this country, his strong work ethic, his ability to fix anything and his kindness he showed. Those who knew him and loved him will forever cherish the memories he leaves behind. 

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at 2 P.M. at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home. In accordance with Mitchell's wishes cremation has been chosen.
